Clemens Kueppers founder of Electrik Bass was born in 1984 in Munich/Germany. In 1994 he moved to Lisbon/Portugal. When Clemens was ten years old he saw a rave (MAYDAY) being broadcasted on TV and discovered that he wanted to be a DJ. For Christmas all Clemens wanted was a mixing table. He got it and his live goal started.

After mixing happy hardcore rave till 1997 on friends birthday parties, he discovered electro/tech-house.

Clé K was born and since 1998. Soon he paired up with his friend Nic and together they were playing as Clé K & Äus. That was all in his childhood.

In October 2000, Clé K’s life dramatically changed. He had an accident where he almost lost his right eye. This accident still affects him nowadays. And he is still waiting for his 5th surgery. Clemens says though, that without the accident, he wouldn’t have developed so quickly, mental wise and musical wise. “I believe that you can learn from everything that happens to you, even negative events and gain experience from it and apply it later on in your life”.

In August 2000, Clé K found Electrik Bass with the purpose of organizing events and to become a label later. In February 2001, Clé K became resident DJ in Blue Bar where he almost worked 1 and half year at the Electrik Bass Club Nights and some other random parties.

Clé K already played in Clubs such as Purex (Bairro Alto), Coconuts (Cascais), Fake Lisbon (Bairro Alto), V-Imperium (Bairro Alto), Bar Kascais, Bar 8 (Estoril), Kontiki (Praia Grande)and many more... Clé K is also on of the resident DJ’s of one of the hottest clubs in Lisbon, OP Art. Clé K already played with international artist such as Lexy (Berlin) or Haito (Berlin) and many national artist’s such as Nelson Flip, Expander, Rui Murka, Yellow, Quiz, Manu, Paulo Roque and many more.

Clé K always had a passion for music, as a little kid he would use the kitchen devices as a drum set. In 1997, Clé K started drum and piano lesson’s. Clé K already tried to perform in three band’s, but it never worked out, because he always wanted to do something else than the whole band. In the spring of 2000, Clé K started producing. In 2001 he paired up with his drum and piano teacher and since them both have produced many club bomb’s. In Oct. 2002, Clé K released his first EP “The Robot Mafia” on Electrik Bass. His next one will be release in early 2003... Clé K already remixed tracks of Shakira, Kraftewerk and the new rising star on the electro-clash heaven Gater.

Besides his whole passion for music, Clé K also paints, writes and produces erotic movies as a director... He already acted in a short movie along the side of the famous Portuguese soap star, Vera Kolozig and will have his first art exhibition held in Sintra Portugal on March 2003.

His DJ set’s are mainly based on electro/tech-house, but Clé K always dives into techno and pulls it with a intelligent way of mixing BACK...
